The Groomer

Hi everybody,
Just had a new adventure! I went to the "groomer". I didn't know what a groomer was until today. It's this great place call "WAGS TO WHISKERS" & I was treated like a princess. I went to "WAGS" with my brothers, Gator & Cappy. They must go all the time because they seemed to know exactly what was going to happen. I was a little nervous when we got there, but this really nice lady named Denise was really nice to me. The boys, Gator & Cappy said she is always so very nice. She gave me a bath, clipped my toenails, & cleaned my ears real good. Then they dried me off & sprayed cologne on me. They didn't cut my coat, because I am to look scruffy for "ANNIE". My director said I looked so good -- she hugged and kissed me. That was real special, but she does that all the time. She just wanted me to know how great I looked and smelled. I really did smell great! My director said she was going to take me back there every week. That will be a whole lot of fun. Everybody at "WAGS" treats me like a "star". Would somebody tell me what that means? Whatever it is -- it's the best!
Bye for now

Hi again,
Boy has it been great around here the last few day. I'm really getting to know my two brothers. All in all they are pretty great guys. Gator is old and doesn't really like to play to much. He enjoys walking with me when we go outside.
(Hey just to let you know -- I haven't had an accident inside my new home -- my director is really very proud of me & I plan on keeping it that way. I really like her. She is a good person, I'm glad she is mine.)
Anyway back to my brothers. Gator has really liked me since I first arrived. I just wasn't to very sure exactly who they were at first.
Capi is a little more standoffish. Capi spends a lot of time in my director's lap. He thought I was gonna come in and take his place. But we finally worked all that out. I am happy on the couch next to her and he is still in her lap & I'm ok with that! I'm sure I will be able to get Capi to play with me a little more as the weeks pass. I am working on getting to know him better. I think he is warming up to me slowly but surely.
I better go, I have to go to this place called the "groomer" where this lady works. Her name is Denise and my director says I will really like going to see her. That it is a special treat to visit WAGS TO WHISKERS... that is the name of her shop. Oh well, we will see. I'll let you know what's the special treat. Gotta Go.....

Sandy and The Boys

Here is a picture of my two new brothers, Gator the Lab & deCaprio the Maltese
Hi again, Sandy here,

I just wanted to update you on my new home. I am being treated like a star, which my director says I really am. I am even allowed to sit on sofa, which the other two dogs in the house cannot do.
Speaking of the other two dogs in the house; let me tell you about them as well. I have two step brothers. One is an fourteen year old, eighty pound Yellow Lab named Gator. The other is a twelve year old, six pound, Maltese named deCaprio.
When I first arrived at my new home the two boys were not exactly sure what to make of me. And I definitely was not too sure about them. I have been around other dogs before -- but to live with them, well I wasn't exactly comfortable. I tried to keep my distance, but they would have no part of it. All they wanted to do was to continue to say hello by sniffing me. I was tired. I'd had a very long day and was not the least bit interested in making friends. Also I had just been neutered that day to say the least. So I kept pretty much to myself and the boys left me alone. My director kept telling me they were nice boys and I would really learn to love them.
Well I am still keeping my distance a bit. They seem to be okay with that. I let you know how things go in the next couple of day, but right now things are looking pretty positive.

Bye for now,
Sandy

Wow --- let me tell you how nice things are these days. I came to my director's house. (I‘m not sure what a director is). I guess it is my home now. When I first got out of the car, I went straight to her nice grassy yard and laid down like a good girl. You see at my last home – the one that my people left—I was on a chain & left in the yard. That yard was not nearly as nice as this yard. My old yard didn’t have any grass, just me and the dirt and the chain. Well anyway, I was laying there in the grass and my director said “come on”! Believe it or not but it is the honest truth, she picked me up and carried me inside! Woo hoo no more yard for me, except to do my “business”—you know what I mean. And I do all my business outside. Not in the house—NOT ME!
Boy this is some place. I think I’m gonna like being a star & I’m not sure what that is either. Oh well.
Bye for now and
Sweet puppy dreams to you

Sandy
Oh by the way, THAT’S my new name!

Here I go

Hi Sandy here,
I just had the most amazing thing happen to me. I was rescued and brought to this really nice ladies house. You see I was left at a house that the bank had forclosed. My people didn't take me with them when they left. Luckily a volunteer for the SPCA of Lakeland was my gurdian angel. The day after my people left, she came and took me to the shelter. I didn't know that someone already wanted me. My foster parent had given a picture of a dog just like me to the folks at the SPCA weeks before I even got there. Debi, my foster parent, came immediately to look at me. I just knew when I saw her it was love at first sight. I mean who wouldn't love this face.
So we are off to her house, I guess it's my house now. Boy am I tired -- This being a star sure is hard work. Maybe I will get used to it. I'll let you know more later.
Have sweet puppy dreams
