This is the story of a rescue dog from the SPCA in Lakeland, FL. What makes this rescue so special? This dog is going to be a star. She is playing the role of "Sandy" in Lakeland Community Theatre's production of "ANNIE". She is going to raise awareness for both the Theatre and the SPCA. Meeting all the standards set by the SPCA, our audience can purchase adoption papers for a drawing to adopt. This is Sandy's amazing story. Enjoy th journey!

Closing of "Annie"

HHey

Sandy here,
Thought you might like to see some photos of the last production and the beautiful flowers the cast gave to Debi.

She is more that my director now. She is my new Mom. The SPCA did a very special & unique presentation on Saturday night before we closed on Sunday. They gave her my adoption papers. So just like "Annie" we are "...together at last!"

We will always have those very special memories of our best production. The entire cast was awesome. Some really special friendships were made during the show. I think this cast will continue to be in touch with each other for a very long time. We all have a very special bond that you don't find in many productions. There are some other people who don't get mentioned; the crew was wonderful; the Mom's were amazing. Everybody worked so hard to make this show as good as it was.

It really makes me sad to say this is my last blog. But what an incredible journey this has been. We all walked away from this experience with something very special--- new friends and new kind of family for all of us.

A very happy ending. And like Britney said, "Don't be sad it's over, be glad you had the experience.

Love to all of you & most of all........

Hey guys, Sandy here.

Boy have I had a great time being the star of Annie! Well maybe not the Star, but I sure have been made to feel special.

Grace Campisi, who plays ANNIE, is the best Annie in the world. All of my scenes are with her. She is so good to me. She even took me home with her one weekend. We sure did have tons of fun.

Chris Clark plays Daddy Warbucks, and he is awesome too. As a matter of fact there isn't one person who is just awesome in this show.

I am really sad that the show is almost over. We have done 2 great weekends and been full every night and sold out on the Sunday matinees. We even had to add an extra performance. That performance will be this Saturday, March 20th at 2:00. I think there are some seats left.

We also did a school matinee for "All Saints' Academy" last Wednesday morning. The kids really did like the show.

Well, on 4 more performances left to do. Please try to come see it. You will be so happy you did. People are saying it's as good as the one they recently saw on Broadway!!!

Gotta go rest,

Hi everbody!
Well we just finished our 1st week of the show. And It went great. The houses were almost sold out and ticket sales for the next 2 weekends are going great. I had the best treat yesterday (3/7/10). I got to go to the CAST PARTY. All the kids were there as well as their parents. I love them so much. The rest of the cast was there. Everybody was there. We had so much fun. We ate really good food, well not me, the cast. We danced and the orphans gave Miss Debi a book with all kinds of great pictures of the rehearsals of all the orphans. What a unique gift and such a special treat. Debi said it was like me getting a piece of steak! WoW! That must be great.

I really would like it if all of you could come and see this show. It is really amazing. And the stuff going on in the Lobby is pretty great also. They are showing an SPCA dog every evening that can be adopted by someone from the audience. There is a $1.00 raffle for a gift certificate to a local restaurant--people only please. And a cruise for 2 for a $5.00 raffle ticket. All you have to pay is $199.pp port fees. All the proceeds go to benefit the theatre.

Well gotta go -- have an appointment for a personal appearance.

Hi everybody.
Leepin Lizards!!! Last night was opening night. It was real scary. We have been rehearsing for 8 weeks and there is nothing to prepare you for a live audience. And especially things that go wrong that you have no control over. Last night I missed my cue for curtain call. And I ran away to soon before the end of "Hooverville" My director had to calm both me and Annie (Grace Campisi) down so we could finish the show. Annie had her mike fall off right before the end of the 1st act. Golly, I don't know much about that sort of thing, but she kept right on going and didn't miss a beat. She told me later she was real nervous when that happened. But you couldn't tell. I love her so much. She gives me treats and sings to me. That is my favorite part of the play, when Annie sings "Tomorrow" to me. It's just she and I up there with everybody listening to her, and watching us both. My director says I'm doing a real good job. It is real hard to not take off and run to try and find her, but I'm doing better. Except for last night!!! I'll try not to do that again.

The SPCA was at the show last night with a precious rescue that could be adopted. I think someone was real interested in her. I think I will get my picture made with the rescue dogs that come each night. I'll post them for you to see. Who knows you might find the pet of your dreams.

Well I gotta go rest before the show tonight. Please come see me in it. You can get tickets at www.lakelandcommunitytheatre.com
